Thorsten Holz is member of the Horst Görtz Institute for IT Security and heads the Chair for System Security.
More and more devices are connected to the Internet and can be manipulated or misused.
Professor Thorsten Holz and his team are developing new analysis tools for the software on devices connected to the Internet in order to identify potential weaknesses. What’s more, they are designing new security mechanisms that are intended to protect such devices against attacks. Running the new methods on as many different devices as possible is a particular challenge. Thorsten Holz’ team is thus first translating the various software components into an intermediary language.
The ERC Starting Grant of Thorsten Holz is endowed with 1.5 million euros.
