Grantee Professor Viktoria Däschlein-Gessner

Professor Viktoria Däschlein-Gessner is a professor at the Faculty of Chemistry and Biochemistry.

Viktoria Däschlein-Gessner, born in 1982, studied chemistry in Marburg and Würzburg. In 2009, she completed her dissertation at TU Dortmund University. She then worked as a post-doc researcher in Dortmund, Berkeley and Würzburg. In 2012, she became head of an Emmy Noether junior research group. Following her habilitation in 2015, she was appointed Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at Ruhr University Bochum in 2016. Here, she’s a member of the Ruhr Explores Solvation RESOLV Cluster of Excellence. She was previously funded with an ERC Starting Grant from 2016 to 2022.

Her ERC project starts in 2023.
