Projects with federal funding
Partners from the fields of research, industry and transfer in the Ruhr metropolis are paving the way for the workplace of tomorrow.
To ensure that artificial intelligence (AI) can help the people in the Ruhr area perform their work more effectively in the future, the collaborative project HUMAINE was launched in April 2021. Researchers are cooperating with partners from industry and transfer to develop methods for gearing AI development specifically to the abilities and needs of users. The Federal Ministry of Education and Research is funding the project “HUMAINE Competence Centre – transfer hub of Ruhr metropolis for human-centered work with AI” as part of the funding priority “Future of Work: Regional Competence Centres for Labour Research” with approx. 8 million euros for an initial period of four years. Ruhr University Bochum is coordinating the project, which also involves the University of Duisburg-Essen and the Bochum University of Applied Sciences.
