Anneliese Maier Research Award

With this award, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation has promoted the internationalisation of humanities and social sciences in Germany. The funding programme has been terminated.

Under the umbrella of the Anneliese Maier Research Award, Professor Francis Jeffry Pelletier, University of Alberta, Edmonton, and Simon Fraser University, collaborated with Professor Tibor Kiss from the Linguistics Department at Ruhr University’s Faculty of Philology from 2013 to 2018. His research subject was the countability of nouns.

From 2012 until 2017, Professor Albert Newen collaborated with the US-American philosopher Professor Shaun Gallagher under the umbrella of the award.

Good to Know

The cooperation award was intended to promote the internationalisation of the humanities and social sciences in Germany and was awarded annually to outstanding overseas scientists from all areas of the humanities and social sciences. The award winners established research partnerships they chose themselves with expert colleagues in Germany for a period of up to five years. An award was valued at 250,000 euros.
