Porträt Dr. Arne Ludwig

Grantee Dr. Arne Ludwig

Dr. Arne Ludwig heads the Molecular Beam Epitaxy at the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy.

Arne Ludwig studied physics in Göttingen and Bochum and completed his dissertation at the Ruhr University Bochum. He worked as a postdoc at the University of Basel, Switzerland. He has been back in Bochum since 2012. Here he develops and optimizes semiconductor heterostructures for electronic and optoelectronic quantum experiments. The focus is on two-dimensional electron gases and self-organized quantum dot heterostructures with low charge noise.

In his project, he is working with international partners on the challenge of creating advanced photonic resource states.

Pushing the Frontier of Photonic Quantum Hardware

The project team wants to lay the foundation for future scalable photonic quantum technologies.
