Christoph Sander holds the Junior Professorship for Digital Humanities in Religious Studies at the Center for Religious Studies CERES at Ruhr University Bochum.
Christoph Sander studied philosophy at the University of Freiburg and the Humboldt University of Berlin and received his doctorate in the history of science from the Technical University of Berlin. He then conducted research at the Bibliotheca Hertziana in Rome, the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science in Berlin and the German Historical Institute in Rome, among others. Since December 1, 2025, he has been a junior professor for Digital Humanities in Religious Studies at the Center for Religious Studies CERES at Ruhr-Universität Bochum.
His project focuses on the influence of the natural sciences on theology in the period between the Reformation and the French Revolution.
