Grantee Professor Ute Krämer

Professor Ute Krämer, Head of the RUB Department of Plant Physiology, has been awarded an ERC Advanced Grant.

Ute Krämer, born in 1969, studied biochemistry in Hanover, completed her PhD as a Rhodes Scholar at the University of Oxford in 1996, and worked subsequently as a postdoc researcher at Rutgers University, New Jersey, USA. Between 2000 and 2006, she headed a research group at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Plant Physiology in Potsdam, where she qualified as professor in 2006 (habilitation). Following a Heisenberg Grant in Heidelberg, she was appointed to the RUB Department of Plant Physiology in 2009.

Her ERC-funded project aims at identifying natural genetic mutations that enable plants to survive in extreme locations.
