How does cognition develop in a brain so completely different from ours?
Professor Onur Güntürkün has headed the biopsychology research unit since 1993.
Onur Güntürkün studied psychology in Bochum from 1975 to 1980 and received his doctorate in 1984. He then worked as a postdoc at the Université Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris) and the University of California at San Diego (USA). From 1988 to 1993, Onur Güntürkün was a research assistant at the University of Konstanz, where he completed his habilitation in psychology in 1991. In 1993, he accepted a professorship in biopsychology at the Faculty of Psychology at RUB.
In his ERC grant, he is investigating the cognition of birds.
