Science Hubs
At Ruhr University Bochum, cutting-edge research is driven forward in innovative, interdisciplinary science hubs. These dynamic hubs network not only with each other, but also internationally to form larger research consortia and clusters. In this way, overarching issues can be researched with even greater depth and breadth. In addition, the science hubs drive forward the transfer activities of the respective research areas and thus create bridges between science and practice.
From January 1, 2026, the Science Hubs will take over the role of the previous Research Departments and set new standards in interdisciplinary and networked research.
